The annual Bucket regatta this year was a great success for Hoek Designed Yachts. Three yachts participated, the 78 ft Truly Classic 'Drumfire', the mighty 180ft ketch 'Marie' and the brand new 52m ketch 'Elfje'. Prevailing light winds made up for competitive races.
In the 'Elegantes' class where Marie and Elfje participated, three yachts had equal points before the last race day and a nail-biting finish between Elfje and the schooner Adela was won by Elfje only by 10 seconds. Elfje's success in these races was even more remarkable given this was their first outing. The ketch Marie became third overall after winning last year's Bucket overall. Drumfire became fourth in class racing against much bigger and modern styled other yachts.
