55' Tintagel
Designed and built under ABS rules with three watertight bulkheads, the classic aluminium sloop Tintagel offers comfortable cruising for two couples. Her deck layout with hydraulic winches allows two-handed sailing, and the cutter rig with furling sails permits a flexible sail configuration. This means that only minor changes are needed for fully crewed racing.
Tintagel has won the Round Admiralty Island Race in Alaska on two occasions. This impressive performance can be attributed in part to her carbon mast, wing keel and balanced skeg rudder. The interior features central heating and comprises mahogany panelling for warmth, while white varnished ceilings provide a bright contrast. The serious specs package also includes a hydraulic power pack, watermaker, air-conditioning, radar and every navigational aid required for ocean passages.
