55 m Ceres Project
We developed the 180-foot Ceres project for American owners who wanted a vessel for architectural cruises in Chicago. Her design is inspired by classic passenger liners and fits within the parameters of the limited bridge heights of the Chicago River. A large covered upper deck, a deckhouse lounge with glass roof, and a below-deck restaurant & entertainment area combine to form a versatile yacht that serves well as a sightseeing cruiser and conference centre.
The yacht will be built in the US under coastguard rules. Her art deco interior styling, complete exterior styling and naval architecture will all be done by us here at Hoek Design. Ceres will be moored next to the new Spire Building presently under development in Chicago by the renowned architect Santiago Calatrava. Once it's completed, this will be thetallest building in the United States.
