TC 78 Bontekoning
Three Truly Classic 78s have been launched so far: Heartbeat, Drumfire and Bontekoning. The TC 78 Bontekoning is based on a hull similar to Hartbeat and Drumfire, although she has a shallower draught of 2.60 m and an aluminium furling mast. In keeping with Truly Classic tradition, Bontekoning has a deckhouse configuration as well as a separate engine room with standing headroom to starboard.
The deck/interior layout is unique for this type of yacht, including an aft steering station as well as a forward social cockpit. Additional interior volume is created for both the owner's cabin and saloon by the coach roofs. A unique feature of the yachts is their double cockpit and double coach roof layout. This allowed a large and airy aft owner's cabin to be integrated within the classic hull shape.
The deckhouse has a spacious U-shaped dining area as well as a navigation station. Below deck are two ensuite guest cabins, flanked by a large open-plan saloon and a large owner's cabin forward of the mast bulkhead. Bontekoning is designed to be sailed as a family yacht without permanent crew. An extraordinary detail is her Art Déco interior with classic detailing throughout.
