MODERN
Modern styled yachts have grown in popularity over recent years and Hoek Design has been fully involved in this evolution. We’ve created a variety of minimalist, high-tech styled boats that look very much at home at gatherings such as the Heineken Regatta and Antigua Race Week. People who associate the Hoek name with classic yachts alone soon agree that our keen eye for detail and flair for design remain consistent, regardless of style.
Ranging from contemporary to ultra-modern, all our modern yachts share a sleek and balanced look. Each design has been extensively optimised to ensure great performance, and also benefits from our experience in structural and technical engineering. Most of these customised projects have flush decks, a complex feat that has major implications in terms of space and capacity.
Our track record in designing classic yachts with similar deck configurations has been invaluable in this respect. Hoek Design modern yachts can be broadly separated into two groups. The contemporary styled designs such as Skipper, Aphrodite I, Aphrodite II and a yet-to-be-built 133-foot sloop edge towards the middle of the spectrum.
A more radically styled collection of designs are based upon the spectacular success of the 82-foot Bharlin Blue, and have thus far been developed in 65, 94, 105 and 125-foot versions. This second group has a clear design philosophy that includes a plumb bow, light displacements, a deckhouse and an aft steering station. After this, the variations one would expect from custom designs come fully into play.
