TC 108 Namuun (ex-Simba)
Leveraging on all the experience gained with sailing the first Truly Classic 108 Jazz jr., the second incorporated a series of improvements and was delivered in the summer of 2012 by the Proteksan yard. These operational alterations aside, Simba was very much a sister-ship of the first TC 108, with only the soft furnishings being different in the interior. This encapsulates the essence of the Truly Classic success story - a concept that offers owners the chance to build a complete replica of a tried and tested formula that they can see before they proceed. At the same time, changes can be made based on performance parameters - or a client can entirely customise their own version of a Truly Classic design. Like her sister, Simba was very well received by the international press and was nominated for the World Superyacht Awards 2013. People admire the way her classic sheer, bow and stern overhang are proportionate to the yacht's size. The timeless atmosphere both outside and below decks are also praised. Completed by Hoek Design, the interior styling showcases raised & fielded panelling combined with leather panelling above the wainscot level. Simba can carry full main and Genoa up to 17-18 knots of true wind. Her light air performance is also good due to low wetted surface area. With her poured lead keel, spade rudder, high aspect ratio sail plan and large sail area to displacement ratio, Simba is proving a promising yacht on the race course.
