FINITE ELEMENT ANALYSIS (FEA)
Finite element modelling (FEM) detects the maximum stress that a yacht’s structure can take. We model the complete structure of a boat and add maximum loads to observe the impact this has on the members. The result is a critical insight into how to design the structure of a yacht to ensure that she is sufficiently strong and stiff. Local reinforcements can be made for the high peak loads from the keel, for instance.
