85 m 3-masted Schooner
A fascinating consequence of the demise of the cruise ship industry during the COVID-19 pandemic has been an attempt to bridge the gap between the private superyacht charter market and that of the ubiquitous cruise liner. HDNA has been asked to design an 85m three-masted schooner to be built in steel with aluminium spars for economy.
Built to the Passenger Yacht Code she will be capable of accommodating 36 paying guests in genuine luxury. With extensive sun bathing and on-deck seating areas, a spa and two topsides opening doors to form balconies, she will have many appealing features and be able offer a genuine sailing experience with guest involvement.
Hybrid diesel electric propulsion will be part of hydrogeneration capability provided by her free-wheeling propeller when sailing at her anticipated 18-20 knots.
