180' Marie
For Charter
The 180-foot ketch Marie is a sister vessel to the triple award-winning sailing yacht Adele. While featuring an identical hull, keel, rudder and sail plan, Marie has a new and entirely customised interior and deck layout. She was built at Vitters Shipyard and launched in 2010. The fabulous looks and sensational performance of Adele had already inspired the owners of the 174-foot sloop Erica XII and the 204-foot schooner Athos. On Marie, the main deckhouse was enlarged and the forward deckhouse removed. This allowed the entire deck and interior layout to be tailored to the owners' taste and requirements. An extensive weight saving programme was implemented, with composite rigging, high modulus carbon spars, furling booms and lightweight interiors improving an already outstanding performance even further. The hull was constructed in Alustar to ABS and MCA specifications. Marie's interior layout was also designed by Hoek Design and features the renowned privacy concept we developed for Adele and successfully deployed on four other sailing superyachts. The aft owners' cabin is connected directly to an owners' deckhouse and aft cockpit with the steering positions forward of the owners' deckhouse. The interior design was elaborated in partnership with David Easton in New York, who took care of the interior decoration. Raised and fielded lightweight Anigre panels create a bright and light atmosphere. MCM acted as owner's representative.
