The founders of an environmental engineering company in the United States asked us to design a modern eco-friendly exploration vessel that would have minimal impact on the environment. This exciting project is under development to be built in a composite construction.
Ease and safety of operation as well as a minimal crew for a vessel of this size were some of the key parameters in the design brief. The medium displacement yacht is intended to be used for expeditions to areas with attractive diving scenery. She will be equipped with controllable pitch propellers which will deploy a cruising speed of twelve knots and a maximum speed of eighteen knots. T
he shape of the hull is developed in such a way that the yacht can also be powered with bigger engines, with planing speeds of up to 35 knots. Desperado will have a timeless interior layout and twin Caterpillar C18 engines.
