156' sloop Wisp
It was an honour to team up with the renowned Royal Huisman for the construction of this spectacular 156-foot sloop. The owner was drawn to the Hoek Design team by its reputation for creating modern classics and, more specifically, by the concept that the team proposed for this project. Not satisfied with these alone, the client drove the design with added developments and refinements to the hull lines of this impressive sloop to reflect the specific objectives of good performance in cruising as well as gentleman's racing. Wisp's elegant hull shape, counter stern, sloping deckhouses and numerous other traditional features speak of civilised and leisurely sailing in a romantic former era. Yet her moderate draught underwater lines, cutter carbon rig and efficient sail handling systems are extensively optimised for performance. The interior design for Wisp was from the boards of Rhoades Young with MCM serving as owner's representative.
