Built for and in close cooperation with a well-known shipowner, Shamoun is designed to enter waters as shallow as 2.30 meters (remarkable for a 108 foot yacht). This was achieved via a V-shaped hull and an integrated centreboard casing inside the aluminium hull. Special attention was given to steering, which is why Shamoun sports one large centreboard and two rudders. The below decks configuration is no less special: locating the engine room on either side of the centreboard casing has resulted in a large and level interior. The layout of this space is fully optimised, with a separate crew quarters and mess for four, four guest cabins and an open plan saloon. Shamoun won Best Interior at the 2000 Superyacht Design Awards and was nominated as one of the best yachts launched that year.
