55' Pilot Classic

The PC 55 was developed for Performance Classic Yachts following on from the successful PC66 project. Performance Classic Yachts is a UK company that is developing Pilot Classic Designs to our designs and have a range of yachts in design and build. The PC 55 that is launched early 2017 is a development of the previously built PC66 Mazu, slightly smaller in size and built as a performance family yacht. This first 55 is the prototype of a new series built PC 55 and a stunningly beautiful yacht that can be sailed shorthanded.
Hull No.1 is built in full composites with a foam core, glass and epoxy with carbon reinforcements but for further hulls a carbon skin is an option. The design is extensively optimized for performance with a T shaped keel, spade rudder with carbon spars. The standard draft is 2.7m but depending on requirements this can be reduced or extended. The exterior can be either ‘modern’ with wrap around windows or more traditional with teak veneer illustrated in the renders. A large cockpit and a very flush coach roof mean lots of usable space. The interior layout has a large owner cabin forward with en suite and two guest cabins aft one of them with en suite all done in ‘New England’ styling.
